My Vivir Healthcare Career Journey as a Physiotherapist

Reinier Apolonio • January 12, 2024

My Physiotherapy career with Vivir Healthcare has taken me all over Australia. I first started with Vivir in 2017 in Sale Victoria where I supported one of our client’s Residential Aged Care Facilities for over two years.

I was keen for a change of scenery, so in November 2019 I moved to Queanbeyan NSW to provide Physiotherapy Services to aged care residents in the local area. I was in Queanbeyan during the COVID-19 pandemic, so I really got to explore the local area during this time of lock down, and it was a pleasure to still be supporting people in Residential Aged Care homes when it was safe to do so.

My most memorable experiences with residents would be when I started organising and facilitating group exercise sessions to improve their strength and dexterity. Seeing all the residents moving, laughing, and having fun with their fellow aged care residents in the group – all while actively participating in the exercises that are keeping them fit and mobile makes my day and reminds me why I wanted to become a Physiotherapist. Also, receiving their comments that they are always looking forward to their next session every week gives me great joy and satisfaction.

In May 2023, I wanted to move to Queensland and Vivir happily supported this. I was able to relocate to another facility in Cairns to continue my role as a Physiotherapist. I am really enjoying Queensland so far and I am so thankful to Vivir for supporting my relocation.

Working with Vivir Healthcare has given me a lot of opportunity to grow professionally from working with other allied health professionals, managing different cases, organising physio programs for our wonderful residents, and completing all functional assessments. I also appreciate the constant support from the Vivir Healthcare office support team which makes this business a great career launch pad for recent allied healthcare graduates, but also for allied healthcare professionals who are seeking career progression opportunities, work flexibility and training and development.

We are always on the look out for amazing physiotherapists with a passion for 'making lives better' to join our team right around Australia! Check out all our roles on our jobs page here
