My Career Journey with Vivir Healthcare – Daniel Corcoran
As an allied healthcare worker, every part of my journey with Vivir Healthcare has been a great experience, shaping both my professional growth and personal outlook on life. It all began in 2020, when I joined the Vivir Healthcare residential team supporting a Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) in a small country town named Coraki, just south of Lismore. Little did I know that this journey would lead me to have deep connection with the communities I support as an Osteopath as well as bring me some wonderful career opportunities within the business.
One of the most memorable moments in my career was during the 2022 NSW floods where I was currently supporting RACFs for Vivir in the area. Northern NSW bore the brunt of nature's fury, and amidst the chaos, I witnessed the unwavering spirit of resilience and unity that defines the Australian spirit. It was heartening to see everyone in the region, regardless of background or circumstance, come together, showcasing the strength of community in the face of adversity.
Throughout my tenure with Vivir Healthcare, I've had the privilege of working at a number of facilities from country to coast. Listening to the stories from clients about their lives and how their local areas has changed has been an eye-opening experience. They certainly have a lot of stories to tell! Among the myriad encounters, some of the most memorable have been supporting those who have played professional sport, often representing Australia internationally – and no, I will not name names!
Earlier this year, I embarked on a new chapter within the business, taking on a Clinical Supervisor role. This promotion has been great so far, and I am really enjoying getting to know the clinicians and supporting their career progressions where I can as well as we collectively strive towards our shared mission of making lives better.
As I reflect on my career journey with Vivir Healthcare so far, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences that have shaped me as an allied healthcare worker, leader, and the clients who I have supported. Each interaction, whether with clients, colleagues, or communities have always been positive. I look forward to continuing to work with Vivir in my role and do my bit to help
improve access to healthcare, so that every person can continue living a meaningful life wherever they live.
