Our Clinician of the Year

After rigorous review of the nominations and overall performance, we are proud to announce Kristy Arvaj as our Clinician of the Year for 2022.

We asked Kristy to respond to some questions to honour the celebration and her role with Vivir Healthcare. Here's what she had to say...

Q1. What do you enjoy most about being an Occupational Therapist?
I love that every day I get the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people living in our community, no matter how big or small. As an OT and having a holistic approach to healthcare, provides me with the opportunity to work alongside people to develop their goals and prioritise what is important to them, helping them improve their independence, so for me, I find that incredibly rewarding. I also love the variety that comes with working in homecare, as it allows me to continue to learn and problem-solve each day.

Q2. What is your favourite thing about working with telehealth clients?
I have really enjoyed the clinical growth and problem-solving that the telehealth platform has enabled me to explore as well as seeing clients across the country and the variety that it has provided! Interacting with clients via video has been equally satisfying, hearing about their walks of life and connecting with them on a personal level. It has been rewarding to bridge the gap to accessing healthcare and provide occupational therapy services to clients living in remote locations or areas that have long wait times. The clients are always so grateful.

Q3. What does winning clinician of the year mean to you?
I am incredibly humbled to be awarded the Clinician of the Year 2022. I’m grateful for the recognition of my efforts in supporting the implementation of the
telehealth service alongside my incredible colleagues and also in my clinical and team leader role. I’m proud to work with such a supportive management and multidisciplinary team which make putting in 110% each day worth it.

Q4. What would be your advice to any new starters with Vivir?
Working in the community for aged/home care clients is an incredibly rewarding job, so if you are passionate about what you do and are after job satisfaction, this is the role for you! In this role, I have found it to be the perfect balance of autonomy and clinical growth while having access to support when needed. Share your experiences with colleagues to develop shared knowledge and use the learned experiences of others to improve patient outcomes.

Quarterly Winners from 2022

We would also like to take this opportunity to recognise our past quarterly winners, from 2022 who were in the running for Clinician of the Year.
