Train the Trainer

Our Train the Trainer method can also empower nurses and carers to become manual handling champions to reinforce a positive manual handling culture and reduce workplace injuries.

Format:

  • Manual handling theory & practical: 2 hours (clinical staff) 1 hour (non-clinical staff)

  • Annual refresher/ competency (practical only): 1 hour

  • Manual handling champion training: 4 hours

Toolbox sessions

Our toolbox sessions offer practical guidance in specialised areas of allied health. This provides your employees with an opportunity to further develop their skills, gain confidence when handling residents, and provides a safer environment for residents.

Format:

  • Evidence-based clinical topics

  • 15 to 30 minutes depending on requirements

  • Suitable for registered nurses, enrolled nurses, personal care assistants, care-givers, all non-clinical staff in residential aged care facilities

Clinical Education Presentations

In these sessions, our allied health professionals deliver face to face education sessions that ensure organisations meet the Australian Aged Care Quality
Agency’s new Accreditation Standards. They also develop a facility’s workforce so that they are sufficient, skilled, and qualified to provide quality personal care and clinical care, enhance quality services and supports for daily living.

Format:

  • 1 hour to 8 hours depending on requirements

Residents Meetings

Vivir allied health clinicians can deliver education during resident meetings to raise awareness of specific health messages amongst residents and families. The Accreditation Standards advocate for residents to make informed choices about the care they receive, through partnerships with health care staff. Our inclusive learning program improves health literacy of residents and family alike.

Format:

  • 30 minutes

WHS Manual Handling

Vivir Healthcare has an extensive network of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who are equipped with the latest ergonomic advice and codes of conduct that influence manual handling in each state.
