Meet your Clinical Team LeaderVivir’s 12-month graduate program equips our intakes with the specialist knowledge required to be an allied health professional in the field of aged care. We accept graduate Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Dietitians and Exercise Physiologists.

What We Offer Graduates

Your 12-month program includes onboarding, monthly professional development (PD), state PD gatherings, regular contact with your clinical team leader, central support from your clinical services manager, access to our online learning platforms and financial support for external PD.

Graduate FAQs

  1. What support for professional development will be provided?
    There are monthly online PD sessions related to your onsite work in aged care. Any questions arising from these can be discussed with your Supervisor/Team Leader. There is also access to other education through the Vivir Learning platform as well as an annual PD event which showcases relevant industry knowledge. Your New Grad support will also direct you towards opportunities for PD related to your own interests and needs.

  2. Will there be someone working alongside me onsite for support?
    There is an initial induction process onsite to support you with becoming familiar with the site, relevant staff and the routine. The induction also covers a typical day, and the processes and documentation required.

    Wherever possible you are placed at a site where there is another clinician. At times this may not be possible due to the location or the program there. In that case, you would have phone support at all times from your Supervisor/Team leader and Clinical Support Lead.

  3. What career pathway progressions are there?
    There are progressions within the company that are possible once you have experience and demonstrated competence within your AHP role in aged care. There are opportunities to experience working across different clients. There are positions as Senior Clinician or Team Leader which would enlarge your responsibility. There is also the opportunity to work across aged care facilities or within homecare and disability services, according to need within your area.

  4. I am an OT/Osteopath – how does that fit into Vivir Healthcare?
    All Allied Health professionals are able to utilise their discipline within aged care. Some clients have preferences related to government protocols, however that is sometimes variable, particularly in regional sites. We encourage teamwork across AHP and recognise what each bring to healthcare. There is also scope for AHPS including Speech therapists and Dieticians to assist in aged care facilities as well as on call and community work.

  5.  Does Vivir Healthcare accept post graduates?
    As long as they have graduated & have their registration we can hire graduates.

  6. What kind of ongoing support will be received at the completion of the New Grad program?
    New graduates would have a direct line of support from their team leaders. However the team leader and graduates reviews and check-ins will be on a case-by-case basis dependent on the level of support required.
