About the role: 
As a new graduate Dietitian, you will receive support to work in both residential care and in the community providing homecare services. As your independent clinical skills develop, you will be supported to engage with clients within the NDIS and via Telehealth to broaden your professional experiences. 

Residential aged care -Our clinicians who work in the residential aged care space can develop their dietetic assessment skills and nutrition treatment plans. They also support in writing PEG feed regimens and in running group nutrition education sessions. 

Homecare and NDIS -Our community services are those provided to Australians within their home through mostly one-on-one home or community visits. Clinicians conduct individualised assessments for various presentations and population groups with a focus on oral nutrition support, home delivered meal services and appropriate funding for dietetic services. Our clinicians use strategies and modalities to enable our clients to achieve their health and lifestyle goals as set by their person-centred plan. 

Key responsibilities: 
  • Complete nutrition assessments for clients with a wide range of health conditions and/or disabilities  
  • Providing nutrition support for clients who are at risk of malnutrition, impaired swallowing, and a combination of other complex co-morbidities.  
  • Development of evidenced-based, client cantered goals and nutrition treatment plans ensuring best practice.  
  • Provide high quality documentation in line with the nutrition care process and/or funder requirements within appropriate time limits.  
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships to enable open communication between organisations to support the client.  
  • Lead group education sessions on a range of topics to residents and/or staff in residential aged care facilities.  
  • Complete seasonal menu reviews to advocate for nutritional adequacy and quality of menus in residential aged care facilities. 
Skills and Qualifications:  
  • Member of Dietitians Australia (DA), with Provisional or Full APD (Accredited Practicing Dietitian) status. 
  • Drivers’ license and reliable vehicle    
  • Professional indemnity insurance, or willingness to obtain.  
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain.  
  • 2023 Flu Vaccine Certificate, or willingness to obtain.  
  • COVID vaccine certificate, or willingness to obtain.
